Woman dies following Mayo road accident

THE woman who was seriously injured in a road collision on the N17 between Claremorris and Knock last Thursday afternoon has died in hospital from her injuries.

She was named as 20-year-old Karen Powell of Cloosilla, Gurteen, Co. Sligo.

Her remains will be reposing at Perry’s Funeral Home, Ballymote, today (Sunday) from 3.30 to 7 p.m.

She will be laid to rest on Monday afternoon in Gurteen Cemetery following Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul at 12 o’clock at Patrick’s Church, Gurteen.

Karen is deeply mourned by her loving parents Pat and Sarah, siblings Stephen, Tracy, John, Robert, William and Leanne, sisters-in-law Karen and Louise, brother-in-law Seamus, Maureen, Ciara, nephews Evan, Noah and Ollie, nieces Lisa, Cora and Abbie, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended  family, neighbours, colleagues and a large circle of friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
