Man charged with spate of west Mayo break-ins
A MAN appeared at Galway District Court today (Monday) in connection with a spate of break-ins in the west Mayo area since August.
Christopher McCreery, of no fixed abode, has been charged with four burglaries in the Westport/Louisburgh area, a theft in the Westport area and a theft in the Castlebar area between August and November.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Harristown Court (Castlerea Prison) next Friday.
McCreery was arrested by gardaí on Friday last following a break-in to a house at Peter Street, Westport.
Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given to Judge Mary Fahy by Garda Aisling Barrett.
Garda Barrett said the accused made no reply to all charges.
