Former Mayo GAA ace signs for Sligo Rovers

NEW Sligo Rovers manager Dave Robertson has made former Mayo minor goalkeeper Michael Schlingermann his first new signing for the 2016 season.

The Kiltimagh ace was named the best in the league last season by the PFAI while playing with Drogheda United.

Schlingermann started his League of Ireland career at Rovers back in 2009.

'It’s time to come home,' Schlingermann told the Sligo Rovers website.

'I am delighted to be signing with Rovers. Last season was disappointing for me so I was looking to get sorted as soon as possible. As soon as Dave rang me I got excited about going to The Showgrounds and was delighted to sign for the club.'
