No let-up in the bad weather for now

THERE'S more unsettled weather on the way before cold conditions set in from next weekend.

Achill Island Coast Guard has gone to the trouble of updating the public on what to expect in the aftermath of Storm Desmond.

The forecast is as follows for the coming week.

Monday: Expect gales and strong gales coming up from the south. Any rainfall is likely to be significant on already saturated lands. Expect a number of weather warnings.

Tuesday: Another wet and windy day but not too bad.

Wednesday: Expect gales and strong gales with the possibility of storm force winds,  again with heavy rain from the SW.

Thursday: Less wet and windy, but still blowy.

Friday: Possibility of gales and strong gales with heavy rain.

Saturday Sunday and Monday: Calming down but getting much colder with Artic winds coming down from the N & NE.
