Residents being evacuated from Mayo nursing home

RESIDENTS of a nursing home in Foxford are being evacuated tonight due to the threat of flooding to the facility.

THE Connaught Telegraph has learned the residents and staff of Blackrocks Nursing Home in the town are being transferred to the local community centre until the threat abates.

The HSE West has been informed of the situation and a number of fire-fighting units are at the scene to fight the flood caused by high water levels in the nearby River Moy.
