Pedestrian dies in Mayo crash

A MAN has died following a traffic accident in Mayo.

The 45-year-old pedestrian died at the scene after he was struck by a car at Grallagh, Ballyhaunis, at around 11.50 p.m. last night (Wednesday).

A post-mortem examination will take place today at Mayo University Hospital.

Gardaí, who are conducting a technical examination of the scene of the tragedy, have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
