30 new jobs for north Mayo town
RECRUITMENT is now underway for positions at the new biomass power plant in Killala.
Environmental services company Veolia announced today that it’s creating 300 new jobs over the next five years at its operations across Ireland.
Last summer, Veolia was awarded the contract to operate the new wood-fuelled biomass power plant in Killala.
The company secured a 15-year contract from Mayo Renewable Power to operate the plant, which will produce enough electricity to supply 68,000 homes.
Managing director of Veolia, Niall Gleeson, said up to 30 people will be employed at the plant when it’s up and running, and recruitment is underway.
