Man tragically killed in Mayo road accident is named
THE man killed in a road traffic accident along the N5 Charlestown to Swinford road yesterday evening (Friday) has being named as Russell Collman, Newcastle, Meelick, Swinford.
Mr. Collman, aged in his thirties, was fatally injured when two articulated trucks collided with his car on the N5 Castlebar to Dublin Road at Knockbrack at around 5 p.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male drivers of both of the trucks were seriously injured and were treated at Mayo University Hospital.
The road remains closed to traffic this afternoon.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses and gardai at Claremorris Garda Station are investigating.
Mr. Collman’s remains will be reposing at Boland’s Funeral Home, Swinford, on Monday evening from 4.30 until 7 p.m.
Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul takes place at 12 o’clock in St. Luke’s Church, Meelick, with burial afterwards at Meelick Cemetery.
