Kiltimagh smashes one ton weight loss target
THE Operation Transformation team in Kiltimagh were officially crowned Ireland's biggest losers on Saturday night.
The team smashed their one ton weight loss target, losing 164.2 stone (that's 2,299lbs) – beating the ton by 59lbs.
The big shrink was led by eight local leaders - Denise Groarke, Tom Byrne, Thomas Cryan, Sonia Gilmartin, Marty Mallee, Gerry Moore, Derek Ryan and Nuala Timlin - who all raised money for local charities with the support of their teams.
The eight were commended at the big reveal night in the Park Hotel on Saturday for putting themselves forward as leaders – not many people are brave enough to be weighed in public!
Marty Mallee's team were the top losers on 438lbs, followed by Tom Byrne's team on 321lbs and Derek Ryan's team on 298lbs.
To keep everyone motivated in maintaining their trim, slim and fit bodies, walks continue each Saturday morning and there are also a number of fitness classes during the week, plus you can get into training for Race2Glory. For updates, see the Kiltimagh St. Patrick's Week Festival Facebook page.
