Death of Bernard Joyce is widely mourned
THE death has taken place of Bernard Joyce, Kennedy Gardens, Castlebar, a well known and respected member of the community.
A native of Ballyvary, he spent his working life in London and was actively involved with the Castlebarmen’s Association in the city and helped countless emigrants from Mayo find work and accommodation in London.
Along with his wife Ann, he returned home on his retirement over 25 years ago to live in Castlebar.
Aged 92, he was a true gentleman who enjoyed a good conversation. He was a long-serving member the local Probus group.
Throughout his life, he retained a great fondness for his native Ballyvary. He was predeceased by Ann some years ago.
His remains will be reposing at the Thomas Street Funeral Home, Castlebar, tomorrow (Friday) evening from 5.30 with removal at 7 o’clock to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Bural takes place in the New Cemetery following Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the Joyce family on their loss.
