Mayo's Naoise sings with The Edge in Sistine Chapel

VOICE student Naoise Hughes, who attends the Music Generation Mayo tuition centre in Ballinrobe, was one of seven teenagers to accompany The Edge when he performed at the Sistine Chapel last Saturday.

The U2 man was the first rock star to perform in the historic venue in Vatican City.

Naoise and her Music Generation counterparts from Cork and Carlow sang four songs with The Edge in what was a spectacular and highly memorable performance.

A statement from Music Generation Mayo said the group was thrilled and proud to offer this opportunity to young people from Mayo.

“All the young singers involved were great ambassadors for their local areas.”
