Youth faces trial for Claremorris murder
A YOUTH charged with the murder of a 17-year-old Lithuanian male was sent forward for trial by a District Court judge today (Wednesday) to the current sitting of the Central Criminal Court.
The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with the murder of Dovydas Jenkas (17), Claremount Manor, Claremorris, at Claremount Manor on December 19 last.
At Castlebar District Court today, Detective Sergeant James Carroll gave evidence to Judge Mary Devins of serving the book of evidence on the accused, who is a 16-year-old schoolboy.
The accused, who is on High Court bail, was accompanied by his mother during this morning's brief court attendance.
Legal aid was assigned to the accused who was represented in court by Nr. Evan O'Dwyer solicitor, Ballyhaunis.
