Mayo's Chris Barrett ruled out of Galway clash

MAYO defender Chris Barrett has been ruled out of the county's clash against Galway in the semi-final of the Connaught SFC at Elverys McHale Park on Saturday evening, June 18. 

According to his manager Stephen Rochford, the Belmullet ace needs more time to recover from a nagging muscle injury.

However, the injuries list within the squad is shortening by the day, as the manager explained.  

He stated: “Conor Loftus, Barry Moran, Alan Freeman, Ger Cafferkey, Diarmuid O’Connor, Tom Parsons and Seamus O’Shea should all be available for selection for the semi-final.

'Alan Freeman took part in some training in London but Barry Moran may need some more time while Conor Loftus is 50-50 at the moment.

'But, overall, the picture looks good with Chris Barrett the only player who will not be in contention for a place.'
