Rescue operation ongoing at remote Erris location
A RESCUE operation is ongoing in the Dún na mBó area of Erris for a young man who slipped into the sea at the location earlier today.
It is understood the rescue services, including the Irish Coastgoard and RNLI, have been experiencing difficulties in gaining access to the man.
The operation has been taking place for a number of hours at this stage.
It had been reported that the man, in his early 20s, had fallen into the sea from a cliff at the remote location.
But a garda spokesperson said no such details could be confirmed.
