Cormac retains poc fada crown

BALLYHAUNIS GAA clubman Cormac Phillips has had lots to celebrate in recent days after winning the Under 16 Connaught poc fada title at the GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan last week.

This was the second year in a row that Cormas has won the trophy.

He now goes forward to represent Mayo in the All-Ireland Under 16 poc fada finals to be held in the Cooley Mountains, Co. Louth, on July 31.

Cormac not only retained his Connaught Under 16 title, he also finished second in the overall shoot-out behind the senior winner, Gerry Fallon of Roscommon. No mean feat for a sportsman of his age.
