Old shop to be demolished

A DISUSED supermarket on Westport Road, Castlebar, is to be demolished and replaced by residential accommodation.

Tony Gaughan Construction and Property Development has applied for planning permission for the demolition of the existing residential/shop building at Knockaphunta and the construction of two houses with carports to the side.

A decision by Mayo County Council on the planning application is due in late September.
