Brides, grooms and judges endorse Mayo wedding services
THERE was plenty of Mayo interest in the Mrs2Be Brides' Choice Awards at the start of the month.
Announcing the winners via an exciting virtual awards ceremony, there were category wins for DJ Tommy Elliott (best wedding DJ - individual), Brenda Grealis (best wedding ceremony musician), Belleek Castle (best wedding venue - castle), and LS Hair (best wedding hair stylist).
The online event was deemed a huge success by the Irish wedding community.
This is the third year of the Mrs2Be Brides' Choice Awards, which are open to all venues and registered businesses who offer a wedding-related service to Irish-based couples, regardless of whether or not they are customers of Mrs2Be.
Judged by both real brides and grooms and independent judges with industry knowledge, the awards recognise excellence within the wedding industry.
The organisers commented: “Winning a Mrs2Be Brides’ Choice Award is a huge achievement for any wedding business. When creating the awards, we deliberately steered clear of the ‘popularity contest’ and ‘paid for’ models. We endeavoured to create a system that was unbiased and based upon real reviews from real previous couples. We believe we were successful in achieving this goal.”
The organisers added: “The judges were very impressed with the overall standard of finalists. Each finalist deserves recognition for their professionalism and the quality of their product or service. We sincerely congratulate all of the award winners and wish them the very best for the future.”
For Kiltimagh-based Tommy, 2016 has been an exceptional year as this is his third national award in the wedding industry over the last few months.
“It all comes down to satisfied customers and providing a professional service on one of the most important days of a couple's lives,” he says. “My motto is: End your night on a high. Remember your night for all the right reasons on such a big occasion - nothing else will do!”
Brenda, from Turlough, Castlebar, has now won the Mrs2Be award for best wedding ceremony musician(s) for the second year running. The singer and multi-instrumentalist has been performing to a very high standard for many years, so it's no surprise to see her win this award two years running.
Belleek Castle in Ballina is winning many plaudits, as well as awards, for its weddings. When their Mrs2Be award was announced, a customer on Facebook commented: “Very well deserved. Had a magnificent wedding there for my son and daughter-in-law. Best wedding I've ever been to. Many guests said the same to me...quote, 'If Carlsberg did weddings they would be at Belleek Castle'.”
Finally, there was a similar reaction on Facebook when Westport-based LS Hair announced their award, 'well deserved' and 'you totally deserve it' being common comments.
