Death of much-loved Castlebar personality

THE death has occurred at Mayo University Hospital of Noel Patrick Lydon, Fortfield, Moneen, Castlebar.

A member of an old and respected Castlebar family with strong connections to Mitchels GAA Club, the deceased was an outstanding sportsman in his youth and competed in the Special Olympics.

Noel was much loved in the community and helped out with the basket collection during weekend Masses at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, for many years.

Deepest sympathy is extended to his parents Martin and Theresa, brothers Martin, Kevin and Seán, sisters Mary and Helen, brothers-in-law Michael Nevin and Mike Regan, sisters-in-law Vanessa, Audrey and Fiona, nephews and nieces, Sarah, James, Maeve, Claire, Kate, Dáithí, uncles, aunts, neighbours, relatives and friends.

His remains will be reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home this evening (Sunday) from 4.30 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to his residence.

Removal takes from his residence on Monday morning at 10 a.m. to the Church of The Holy Rosary, Castlebar, for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. Burial takes place afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
