VIDEO: Rochford denies report his players instigated tunnel incident
MAYO manager Stephen Rochford has categorically denied claims that his players instigated a row with Dublin players before last Sunday's drawn All-Ireland SFC final at Croke Park by waiting for them in the tunnel.
Speaking to the media at Breaffy House Resort last night, he said there was no truth in the original media reports about an incident that is currently under investigation.
He also outlined that claims former Donegal manager Jim McGuinness had addressed his players ahead of the game were untrue.
'I don't know where the McGuinNess story came from. I have never met the man. I have the utmost respect for him, of course.
'As regards the other issue, we had a lot to do before the game without worrying what time Dublin came out. I was standing at the door. The players had a final huddle. We went out as normal.
'From my perspective, the stories in question did not bring any lack of focus for us. That's the important thing,' he stated.
Rochford confirmed that Alan Dillon is a doubt for the replay while Cillian O'Connor and Evan Regan are expected to be fit.
