Le Galaxie and Daithí live in Castlebar this weekend
FINBAR Hoban Presents has a run of brilliant shows taking place around Castlebar over the coming months, starting with one of Ireland’s best electronic dance acts, Le Galaxie, making their debut in the county town tomorrow (Saturday, September 24) at Garbo's.
Since releasing their debut album, Le Galaxie have replicated this scene across clubs and venues, bars and fields, tents and countries, cities and towns, parties and raves in Ireland. And in doing so, the band has had a multiplier effect, going from a cult following to a force to one of the hardest hitters on the Irish music scene.
Also on the bill will be Galway electronic wizard Daithí. Full name Daithí Ó Drónaí, he was taught the traditional fiddle by his family whilst growing up in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare. His family, the Droney family, has a strong tradition of traditional Irish music; his grandfather is the well known concertina player Chris Droney.
Daithí has become a regular name in the Irish gigging circuit. Now signed to Sony Music Ireland, he has been performing his Irish trad-tinged dance music all over the country.
Tickets for this highly anticipated show are now on sale through Downtown Records and Hogs Heaven Bar in Castlebar. For further information, visit finbarhobanpresents.com.
