Three people rescued at the Reek
THREE people were rescued from Croagh Patrick last night.
It is understood a woman and two teenagers became disorientated yesterday evening when making their way down from the mountain.
A spokesperson for the Irish Coastguard said the group had climbed Croagh Patrick earlier in the day but had left their return journey too late and bad weather conditions made visibility poor in the evening.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 9.30 p.m.
Rescue 118 helicopter was dispatched to the scene from Sligo and winched them to safety an hour later.
They were brought to Mayo University Hospital as a precaution but all three are reported to be safe and well.
