Death of retired Castlebar psychiatric nurse

THE death has taken place after a short illness of Andrew (Andy) Gillespie, Turlough Road, Castlebar.

A retired member of the psychiatric nursing staff of St. Mary's Hospital, the deceased was held in high regard within his profession.

First and foremost, however, he was a dedicated family man and was much loved in the community at large. He was closely associated with Castlebar Athletic Club for many years. 

Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Emily, son Vincent, daughters Fiona and Irene, daughter-in-law Kate, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Aoife, Áine, Seán, Niall and Niamh, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

His remains will be reposing at his residence this evening from 4.30 to 7 p.m. with removal on Thursday at 10 a.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. Burial takes place afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
