Women arrested in Castlebar on brothel charges

TWO women suspected of being sex workers were arrested yesterday (Thursday) at an apartment in the Linenhall Street area of Castlebar.

The garda swoop on the building took place during daylight hours.

The suspect were afterwards charged at Castlebar Garda Station under Section 11 of the Criminal Law Sexual offences Act relating to brothel keeping.

Both women were brought before Judge Mary Devins at a sitting of Ballina District Court this morning (Friday).
