Woman who died in Mayo road traffic accident is named
THE woman who died following a road traffic accident on the main Claremorris to Balla road, near Brize, last night has been named as Veronica (Ronnie) Mongan (nee McGartland), Breaffy, and late of Castle Street, Castlebar.
In her 60s, the deceased was seriously injured in the accident involving a car and a tractor. She was transferred by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital where she died this morning. The male driver of the tractor was uninjured.
Her remains will reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Sunday evening from 4 o’clock with removal at 7 o’clock to St. Aloysius Church, Breaffy.
Requiem Mass takes place Monday at 1.30 p.m. with burial afterwards in Breaffy Cemetery.
Deepest sympathy is extended to her daughters Jackie, Tracy, Niamh and Leanne, sisters Mary Rose McGreal, Breaffy, and Pauline Ginty, Ballina, son-in-law Bert, grandchildren Mark, Abbey, Shauna, Leah and James, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, relatives, extended family and friends, to whom heartfelt sympathy is tendered.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis, a former stationmaster at Castlebar Railway Station.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
