MAYO champions Castlebar Mitchels advanced to the semi-final of the Connaught Club SFC next Sunday against Corofin with a facile victory over Tourlestrane today at Markievicz Park, Sligo. 

It was more of less done and dusted by half-time as Castlebar led by 1-6 to 0-1. 

The goal was scored by Neil Douglas in the 19th minute. The man-of-the-match registered a personal tally of 1-5.

But he was black-carded in the 46th minute, by which stage last year's All-Ireland finalists were out of sight.

Tourlestrane kept fighting to the end with Liam Gaughan, Niall Egan, and Peter Harte getting late points.

But Mitchels were clearly the superior side.
