Former Mayo GAA star dies in Co. Meath
THE death has occurred of Cyril Moran, Tower Road, Mornington, Co. Meath, and Lavallinree, Parke, Castlebar.
The deceased was a former Mayo senior footballer who performed with distinction for the green and red for a number of years.
He won a County Junior Title with Parke GAA Club as well as a Hogan Cup (All-Ireland Colleges A) medal with St Jarlath’s College, Tuam.
News of his passing has come as a great shock to his family, friends and former GAA teammates.
He is survived by his partner, Mena Lee, sons Colm and Hugh, their mother Bríd, his brothers Paddy, Tommy and Johnny, sister Delia, aunts Mary and Kathleen, cousins, nephews, nieces, inlaws, neighbours and a wide circle of friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
His remains will be reposing at his home, Tower Road, Mornington, Co. Meath on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Removal to Parke Community Centre, Castlebar, takes place on Wednesday, reposing on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. with removal at 8 p.m, to the Church of the Holy Family, Parke.
Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m., followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
