Parents, teachers, and anyone interested in starting or returning to third-level study as a mature student, are invited to attend this information event.

Visitors will have an opportunity to take part in workshops on the various disciplines on offer in the Mayo campus in Castlebar.

Information will be available on programmes such as Accounting, Applied Social Care, Business, Culture & Environment, Digital Media, Early Childhood Education and Care, History & Geography, Information Technology Support, Outdoor Education, Nursing and Sustainable Building Technology.

Staff and students will be on hand to talk about the many services available to support students during their time at third level.

Visitors will also have an opportunity to view the beautifully rennovated interior of the GMIT Mayo campus, formerly St. Mary’s Hospital, which has been restored and refurbished in recent years into a state of the art learning centre with excellent facilities.

Career Guidance Counsellors will have the opportunity to gather the most up to date information on both recent and future developments at GMIT Mayo at a special seminar with Dr. Deirdre Garvey, Head of Campus and Heads of Department, Michael Gill, Business, Humanities & Technology, and Justin Kerr, Nursing, Social Care & Health Sciences.

GMIT Students Services Officer Anne Donnelly said: “Visitors will have the opportunity to meet up with our Access Officer, Counsellor, Chaplain and other staff to get the answers to any questions you may have about access and disability service, scholarships available, financial supports available, medical service and many more.”
