Funeral arrangements for Castlebar native Liam Gavin
THE funeral arrangement have been announced for Liam Gavin, Manor Close, Kingston, Galway, and formerly of Castlebar.
A director of services with Galway County Council, he died suddenly yesterday after a short illness.
His remains will be reposing at his home tomorrow (Friday) from 4 to 8 p.m.
Private removal takes place on Saturday to St. Ignatius Church, Sea Road, Galway, to arrive for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. Burial takes place afterwards in Rahoon Cemetery.

Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Eileen (O'Donohoe), daughter Áine, son Tomás, sister Grace (Conneely), brothers Seán, Séamus and Colm, sisters-in-law Angela, Peggy and Bernie, brothers-in-law Jim and John, extended family and many friends.
Aged 58, Liam was a son of the late Seamie and Eileen Gavin, Greenfields, Castlebar.
In his youth, he starred for Castlebar Celtic and Castlebar Mitchels and always kept in close contact with his home town where he was affectionately known as 'Lee Lee' to his many friends.
During his years working for Carlow County Council, he won a Leinster Senior League winners medal with Portlaoise Football Club.
The deceased was a first cousin of Councillor Blackie Gavin, Mayo County Council.
