Remains of Majella Donoghue to be repatriated
THE remains of a newly engaged Erris woman, who died in London earlier this month following a flight from Cape Town with her fiancée, will be repatriated tomorrow.
Close family members and other relatives will gather at Ireland West Airport Knock in the early afternoon to receive the remains of Majella Donoghue (30), Tirrane, Clogher, Belmullet.
Ms. Donoghue, a popular employee of medical company Boston Scientific at its base in Galway City, became ill on Sunday week last as she travelled to London on a flight with her boyfriend, Barry Doherty.
During their stay in Cape Town, the happy couple collected an engagement ring. Following her tragic death in the London hospital to which she was rushed, Barry posted a poignant last photo of them together in South Africa on Facebook.
The results of a post-mortem examination have not yet been released.
Majella's remains will repose in McDonnell's Funeral Home, Belmullet, on Saturday evening from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m.
It is expected they will then be brought to the Donoghue family home in Tirrane prior to Requiem Mass on Sunday at 1.30 p.m.
Majella will be laid to rest on in Faulmore Cemetery, Blacksod, in the same plot as her father, Willie, who passed away some years ago.
Deepest sympathy is extended to her mother Mary, fiancée Barry (Ballina), sister Angela Redmond (Dublin), brothers David (Dublin), Brendan, Tommy and Stephen Donoghue (Tirrane, Belmullet), brother-in-law Paul, niece Amber and nephews Cody and Killian, relatives and many friends.
