Step out for Lucy Tuohy

THE Castlebar community is rallying round Lucy Tuohy, who was injured in a road traffic accident on Monday evening.

Lucy is daughter of Castlebar Mitchels Under 14 coach Cormac Tuohy and both Cormac and his wife Collette are hugely valued members of the club.

Together with Castlebar Mitchels Ladies Club, other local clubs in the town, plus the pupils of St. Joseph's Secondary School, they are joining up to run, jog or walk the 5k route around Lough Lannagh on Saturday morning (December 3), commencing at 9.30 a.m.

As a member of a keen sporting family, Lucy has taken part in this event on a regular basis in recent weeks with the Castlebar Mitchels Ladies group. Joining together to step it out on Saturday is a fitting display of affection and solidarity with the Tuohy family during this difficult time.

Voluntary donations will be collected on the morning to help the family defray their costs, but the primary focus is on completing the route on behalf of Lucy.

The meeting point is the Castlebar Tennis Club car park at 9.15 a.m., with tea and coffee available afterwards in the tennis club. All are welcome to come along and join in - and don't forget to spread the word.
