Key GAA role for former Birmingham City star
CASTLEBAR Mitchels senior player David Joyce has been appointed to the Roscommon GAA squad's backroom team by manager Kevin McStay.
The former Republic of Ireland underage captain is to involved as a strength and conditioning coach while also bringing his vast experience to the set-up.
Joyce was on the books of Birmingham City for a number of years and is Mayo's most capped international player at youths and schoolboys level.
Since retiring from the professional game due to injury, he has been playing with Castlebar Mitchels and, occassionally, Castlebar Celtic, where he started his playing career as a young boy.
Former Kerry goalkeeper Declan O'Keefe has also been appointed a goalkeeping coach by McStay.
