Video: Mayo family in special Make a Wish Foundation appeal

A CASTLEBAR family is making a special appeal for the Make a Wish Foundation this Christmas.

David and Mary Tighe, Gallow's Hill, Castlebar, go to great efforts every year putting on a show of festive lights and music at their home in the county town.

As part of the display, they erect a donation box on their front gate asking passers-by to drop in a euro or two for charity.

This year's charity is the Limerick-based Make a Wish Foundation which does outstanding work.

Said David: 'We are glad to be in a position to do this. People are very generous to charities at this time of the year, such is the caring nature of Irish people in general.'
