Top Mayo projects in line for national awards

A number of Mayo projects have neen nominated for the PB Insurance and LAMA-sponsored Community and Council Awards 2017.

They include Mayo International Dark Skies Fáilte Ireland (Best Tourism Initiative), Mayo County Council (Council of the Year), The Jackie Clarke 1969 Collection (Best Education and Training Initiative), Mayo Sports Partnership's Men on the Move (Best Health and Wellbeing Initiative), Mayo County Council's 'Go on, Go on, take a break' campaign (Best Road Safety Initiative) and Westport United Community Development (Local Sports Club of the Year).

Over 200 nominations were received with 120 entries shortlisted across the 22 categories.

Among the awards to be presented on Saturday, February 4, at the Crown Plaza Northwood are Council of the Year, Community Volunteer of the Year, Best Educational Building, Best Civil Engineering Project, Local Sports Club of the Year and the National Impact Award.
