Key defender is back in training for Mayo

GER Cafferkey has returned to training for the Mayo senior footabll squad following a long-term hamstring injury.

The talented Ballina defender has been ruled out of action since before Mayo's Connaught SFC campaign last summer, representing a big loss to manager Stephen Rochford.

It has been confirmed that he is now back in training after making a full recovery.

It is understood he is in contention to play some part in Mayo's opening FBD League clash against NUI, Galway, on Sunday week at Castlebar.

Mayo fans will be delighted with the news ahead of the 2017 season.
