Lions raise €10,000 for charity
THE Castlebar Lions Club annual draw took place in Coady's Bar, raising €4,000. The Christmas food appeal raised €6,000, making a grand total of €10,000.
The food and money are given to St. Vincent De Paul and other needy causes in the Castlebar area.
Thanks to SuperValu, Dunnes Stores, Tesco and Coady's for facilitating Castlebar Lions Club on this achievement.
First prize for the annual draw was a hamper sponsored by SuperValu which went to Matthew English, Belcarra. Second prize, a hamper sponsored by the Lions Club, went to John Callan, Saleen, Ballinrobe Road.
The next meeting of Castlebar Lions Club will be held in the TF Hotel tonight (Thursday, January 5) at 9 p.m. New female and male members are welcome so why not pop along.
