Set your fitness and wellbeing goals at Fitness Factory workshop
FITNESS, diet, nutrition and mental health go hand in hand and these are the topics that will be explored at a one-day Fitness Factory workshop taking place in Castlebar this January for anyone looking to make 2017 their year.
Personal trainer, fitness instructor, blogger and nutrition advisor Michelle Malone, better known as That’s So Shelly Fitness, is facilitating this event in Breaffy House Resort on January 22, which will provide the opportunity for attendees to explore and define their fitness goals for 2017. The event is open to men and women of all fitness abilities and will help everyone assess where they are and where they want to be in terms of fitness and mental health.
Guest speakers include journalist and blogger Rosemary MacCabe, former Mayo football manager James Horan, Tom Coleman of My Nutrition Ireland, Barry O’Neill of Bonco Wellness and Michelle Malone of That’s So Shelly Fitness.
Part of the event will focus on heart health, with the Irish Heart Foundation having being selected as the charity partner.
Cardiovascular disease is the biggest killer in Ireland with approximately 10,000 people dying each year from heart related illnesses. That accounts for a third of all deaths in Ireland. If that isn’t motivation enough to get you up and get you active then nothing will raise you from the couch.
Each year, approximately 10,000 Irish people suffer a stroke and around 2,000 people die - more deaths than breast cancer, prostate cancer and bowel cancer combined.
These statistics are staggering but the Irish Heart Foundation will explain on January 22 how heart disease is preventable by making the correct lifestyle changes.
“If you want practical advice on setting and hitting your goals for 2017, looking after your mental health, diet and nutrition, having a vision for a better you and an opportunity to ask the experts any questions in all areas of fitness, health, nutrition and wellbeing, then you won’t want to miss out,” explained event coordinator Shelly.
Included on the day are goodie bags for each attendee, amazing prizes from some of Ireland’s most recognisable health brands, a light lunch and class participation.
Michelle ‘Shelly’ Malone is the owner, principal group fitness coach and personal trainer with That’s So Shelly Fitness, a Castlebar and Swinford based fitness company. She is originally from Westmeath and achieved the ultimate success with the Westmeath ladies football team in 2011 when they won the league final, the Leinster final and the All-Ireland intermediate final. Her favourite quote is “Her success is not my failure,” and she strives to help both men and women become the best version of themselves by living a healthier lifestyle and looking after their mind along the journey too.
