Gardaí investigate lakeside dog cruelty complaint

GARDAÍ in Castlebar are investigating a complaint of cruelty to a dog which is reported to have taken place at Lough Lannagh yesterday evening.

Between 6.30 and 7.30 p.m., a man was seen punching and beating a dog in the face and around the body. It is understood the dog was a young German shepherd.

The gardaí have being examining CCTV footage of the lake but it may have been too dark at the time.
