Pedestrians up in arms over dangerous car park entrance
A CALL has been made for the provision of a pedestrian crossing at a very busy location in Castlebar town centre.
Pedestrians are put at risk at the entrance to the Market Square car park by vehicles entering and exiting the facility at speed.
The problem is particularly serious for people walking towards Shamble Street from Newtown.
Pedestrians are blind-sided when cars and trucks turn into the car park from the Newtown direction.
A caller to The Connaught Telegraph stated: “It's an accident waiting to happen. Something needs to be done to improve health and safety at the location.”
