Turlough Enhancement Scheme set to proceed

TUROUGH Community Development Association has thanked the elected members and staff of Castlebar Municipal District for holding a statutory meeting in the village for the first time.

A statement issued by the association subsequent to the meeting stated: 'We especially wish to thank them for their commitment towards funding for the Turlough Village Enhancement Scheme that was granted planning permission in September 2015.

'It is envisaged that the funding will be made available this year. This will see traffic calming, cycle lanes, footpaths, pedestrian crossings and more parking in the centre of Turlough and help connect the village with the National Museum of Ireland and the Greenway and make the village a safer place for all the residents and visitors to Turlough.
