Funding approved for Mayo school extension

A MAJOR extension for St. Joseph’s Secondary School in Castlebar is approved.

The news has been welcomed by Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

He stated: “My colleague, the Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton, has confirmed to me that St. Joseph’s Secondary School has been approved for funding under the department’s building programme in order to meet demographic demands and the school’s long-term projected enrolment.”

The additional accommodation will comprise of seven new general classrooms and six standard WCs, a WC for assisted users as well as one new home economics room.
