Community mourns passing of former postman
THE community of Glenisland is in mourning following the death of popular former postman Frank McHugh.
Frank passed away at Roscommon University Hospital following a long illness.
The deceased was widely known and respected throughout west Mayo. His courteous and affable manner endeared him to so many people and news of his death evoked a sense of immense sorrow and loss.
He is survived by his wife, Angela, daughters Angelina (Midwest Radio) and Bernadette, to whom sympathy is extended.
The McHugh family ran Glenisland Post Office for many years.
His remains will repose in Glenisland Presbytery on Saturday from 4.30 to 6.30 p.m.
Interment takes place in Glenisland Cemetery on Sunday following Requiem Mass at 1 p.m. in Glenisland Church.
