SHANNON Sweeney, St. Anne’s Boxing Club, Westport, added a seventh national title to her record book in the National Stadium last month.

She is now a strong contender to represent Ireland in the European Championship.

Shannon represented Ireland against England last year and came away with the Best Boxer Award, and was the only boxer from Connaught to box in the European Championships in Hungary.

She will be presented with her award by The Connaught Telegraph at a gala function in Breaffy House Resort next Friday.
