Shauna has taken the Irish tennis world by storm

The Connaught Telegraph Sports Stars of the Year, No. 20

SHAUNA Heffernan of Claremorris Tennis Club captured the prestigious Under 18 Girls National Junior Indoor Tennis Championship at West Wood Tennis Club in Clontarf at teh end of December.

She defeated number one seed Caragh Courtney in straight sets (6-4 6-4) in the final.

A former winner of Connaught Telegraph Young Sports Star Award, Shauna made the Irish team for the Tri-Nations Cup last year and has continued to develop and progress during the year, making the quarterfinals of the Irish Senior Championships before losing out to the eventual winner.

Shauna is a young sports star we will be seeing a lot more of in the years ahead.
