Mayo man faces murder charge
A MAYO man has been sent forward for trial to the current sitting of the Central Criminal Court on a charge of murder.
The accused, John Tighe of Lavallyroe, Ballyhaunis, replied 'Not guilty' when the charge that he murdered Joshua Sussbier Tighe at the same address on June 1, 2013, was put to him.
Detective Garda Kenneth Waldron told Judge Mary Devins at Castlebar District Court this afternoon that he arrested the accused in the morning and charged him with the alleged offence.
Tighe was remanded in custody after his brief appearance in court, where Judge Devins granted an application for legal aid to his solicitor, Mr. Alan Gannon.
