Mayo priest calls for 'digital chain letter nonsense' to stop
A MAYO priest has called on those 'terrorising vulnerable people' with digital chain letters to stop.
Fr. Charlie McDonnell, CC, Westport, condemned such letters, now being circulated online, as 'nonsense'.
In a post on his Facebook page, he stated: “Nearly 40 years ago I remember my grandmother being absolutely terrorised by a chain letter.
“I remember around the same time one of our local priests standing on the altar telling people that if they got them and were afraid to burn them send them to him.
“Please stop spreading this absolute rubbish. God does not work like this. Those responsible should stop terrorising vulnerable people with this nonsense.”
