Meet Mayo's Gogglebox couple

TV3’s smash hit show Gogglebox Ireland is on tonight (Wednesday) at 9 p.m. and there's a brand new home to meet - married couple Shelly and Jonny from Ballina.

The Mayo couple met 13 years ago when they were both working in a local bar. Fast forward to now and they are happily married with a nine-year-old son, Jack.

Although they live in Ballina, Jonny is originally from Crossmolina and Shelly is a Roscommon woman who moved permanently to Mayo for ‘her buck’ Jonny.

When at home, Shelly loves to drive Jonny mad and they are always fighting over the remote control.

Jonny is a keen sportsman and loves to train for and take part in triathlons. Shelly and Jonny are both daredevils and love rollercoasters. They have ridden seven of the world’s top 10 rollercoasters and are determined to finish the list.

TV wise, they enjoy Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory and anything to do with cars. Shelly likes crime dramas while Jonny prefers a good documentary.

Shelly’s pin-up would be Tom Hardy and, while Jonny rates him as an actor, he prefers Jessica Alba.
