Passing of member of popular Castlebar business family

THE death has occurred of Eileen Irwin (née McCormack), 2 The Grove, Castlebar, and late of Ellison Street, Castlebar.

In her 93rd year, the deceased was a member an old and respected Castlebar family involved in the business life of the town for a long number of years.

A kind and affable woman, news of her passing is widely mourned. She had a long association with Castlebar Golf Club and Castlebar Bridge Club.

She is survived by her son Billy, daughter Aisling, brother Joe, daughter-in-law Valerie, son-in-law Pat, grandchildren Odhran, Ronan, Darragh, Rebecca, Hannah, Euan, Claire and Aidan, great-grandchildren Hailey and Ava, sister-in-law Nora (McCormack) nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends, to whom deepest sympathy.

The late Mrs. Irwin was predeceased by her husband Paddy and daughter Maria.

Her remains will reposing at the residence of her son Billy, Maryland, Castlebar, on Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

Removal takes place on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. to the Church of The Holy Rosary, Castlebar, for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m.

Burial takes place afterwards in New Cemetery, Castlebar.
