Mayo house fire-bombed for second time in a number of weeks
THE community of Swinford is outraged after a house in the town was fire-bombed for the second time in the space of a few weeks.
Gardaí in the Claremorris District are investigating the attack on the private residence at Cullane which has left local people bemused.
A garda spokesman confirmed to The Connaught Telegraph that the first attack on the house took place on February 17 last while last Saturday's incident took place between 7.40 and 7.55 p.m. when damage was caused to the dwelling
The attack is being treated as arson and An Garda Siochana have appealed for witnesses to contact Claremorris Garda Station or the garda confidential line.
Swinford Fianna Fáil Councillor Michael Smyth told Midwest Radio that garda intelligence are fully aware of the situation.
But he made the point the force is severely under-resourced in the Swinford division.
