Belmullet St. Patrick's Day Parade cancelled as mark of respect

THE Belmullet Festival Committee has announced its decision to cancel Friday's St. Patrick's Day Parade in the town as a mark of respect to the members of the Irish Coast Guard and their families touched by the tragedy in the community.

The money collected for the day will be donated to their rescue efforts.

“We extend our deepest sympathy to the Irish Coast Guard, their families and all involved at this difficult time,' a spokesperson for the committee stated.
