Preview of refurbished Charlestown swimming pool

A PUBLIC preview of the newly refurbished heated swimming pool in Charlestown took place at the weekend.

The pool will be reopening later this year.

Writing on his Facebook page, local Sinn Féin Councillor Gerry Murray extended thanks to both central and local government who made an investment of almost €500,000.

He extended thanks also to the local swimming pool committee who have relentlessly driven this project over the years via various fundraising activities, not to mention the day to day management of the pool.

Further investment and refurbishment works are planned for 2018, he explained, to further enhance the facility.

The pool committee has made a call for more volunteers to become involved in the committee.
